DiBuduo & DeFendis is unique in that it has its own Risk Control Department. The staff assists clients with risk control and prevention. Safety and risk management services help reduce and control client exposures and ultimately lowering their insurance costs.
The Risk Control Department is under the direction of Douglas Jern who has over 33 years of experience in the insurance industry as a Risk Control consultant and manager. For the past 20 years, Mr. Jern, who has a Master’s degree in Occupational Safety Management, has supervised the DiBuduo & DeFendis Risk Control group. Mr. Jern holds designations as an Associate in Risk Management, a Certified Safety Professional and Professional in HR. He has taught classes in Risk Management for the Insurance Education Association and Occupational Safety classes at California State University, Fresno.
David Zarate
David Zarate is our Senior Bi-Lingual Loss Control Consultant. David has over 33 years of Insurance Loss Control and Broker experience and has been with DiBuduo & DeFendis since 1998. He has a Bachelors and a Masters degree from CSU Fresno in Industrial Technology. David specializes in agricultural safety having years of experience working with many of the larger farming entities in the Central Valley. David also has an extensive background in property loss control and received a designation from Royal Insurance as a Property Qualified Consultant.
