Michael DeFendis
Richard Antenucci
Richard is vice president and a broker for D&D. He has been in the industry for over three decades, now focusing on all lines of commercial insurance, bonding and health insurance.
Peter Antonino
Peter is an agent and broker with over 15 years of experience in the industry. He works on all lines of insurance, including, but not limited to, manufacturing, construction, social services, food services and commercial property. Peter is president of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of Fresno.
Steve Antonino
Steve has been in the insurance industry for over four decades. He specializes in all lines of business and personal insurance, serving clients as a broker. Steve is a graduate of California State University, Fresno.
Hugh Awtrey
Hugh got his start in the insurance business nearly four decades ago and joined the D&D team in 2009. He graduated from California State University, Fresno with a degree in business administration. As a broker, he focuses on agri-business accounts, crop insurance, contractors and commercial property coverage. He also holds the professional designations of Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate in Risk Management (ARM).
William Brenner
William Brenner has been newly promoted to Manager, Workers’ Compensation Marketing at D&D. As an insurance professional in the industry for seven years and at D&D for almost five years now, Will oversees the placement of all workers’ compensation policies for the brokerage. Will previously served as the lead for Small Business, Workers Compensation at D&D and worked as a junior underwriter at The Zenith Insurance Company.
James (Jim) V. Buffo
Since 1979, Jim has been in the insurance business and serves D&D as a broker. He specializes in contractors, bonding and apartments. Licensed in General Contracting, he understands the needs of contractors very well. Jim is also a certified insurance counselor and holds a degree from California State University, Fresno.
Sam Eknoian
Sam Eknoian works as a Risk Management Consultant for D&D. He has worked in the industry for nearly a decade and focuses on mid to large employers specializing in agriculture, including growers, packers, shippers, manufacturers, transportation and restaurant insurance. Throughout his career, Sam has consulted with manufacturers, trucking firms and other large corporations throughout California, helping them strategically with transparency and process, while discovering risks and tailoring solutions for each client. Sam was voted Readers’ Choice Insurance ‘Agent of the Year’ in 2016 and 2017 by Enterprise Recorder and sat on the board for the Kingsburg Chamber of Commerce board for three years.
Blake Ellsworth
Blake has been working as a broker for D&D since 2019. He primarily focuses on general commercial, agriculture and habitational insurance, and has his CWCA (Certified Workers’ Compensation Authority). Blake graduated from Fresno State University’s Business Entrepreneurship Program in 2017.
Steve Ellsworth
Steve Ellsworth joined the DiBuduo & DeFendis Insurance team in 1990. He focuses on all lines of insurance including agriculture, manufacturing, contractors and developers, professional and management liability, employee benefits, life insurance, and long-term care. Steve also works closely with property managers of shopping and office centers, apartment complexes and HOAs. He has been married for 30 years and has three sons, including Blake Ellsworth who joined D&D in 2019.
Manny Fagundes
Manny Fagundes is a producer for DiBuduo & DeFendis Insurance and based in the Fresno office. He joined the brokerage 42 years ago and now holds the title of Senior Vice President. Beyond his decades of experience, Manny prides himself on his strong work ethic and loyalty to his clients.
Mark Fagundes
Mark is a broker and has been working in all lines of commercial insurance including health and medical for over two decades. Mark is a graduate of the University of California, Davis.
Matt Fagundes
Matt is a broker who has worked in the insurance industry for close to three decades. He specializes in workers’ compensation and is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles. He has participated in extensive training programs with Superior National in Calabasas and Chubb Insurance Company in Woodland Hills.
Chris Falco
Chris is a graduate of California State University, Fresno and joined the D&D team in 1996. He has been assisting clients as a broker for over two decades in all lines of business and health insurance.
Chris Gutilla Sr.
Chris has been in the insurance industry for over 40 years, now serving as Vice President. He specializes in commercial, construction and surety insurance programs with D&D.
Chris Gutilla Jr.
Chris has worked in the insurance industry for over a decade, now working as a broker working in all lines of commercial insurance, focused on hospitality and habitational insurance programs. Chris is a graduate of Arizona State University.
Steve D. Gutilla Sr.
Steve serves as Vice President of D&D. With over three decades of experience in the insurance industry, Steve has been employed as a broker with D&D since 1989. He specializes in commercial, agribusiness, habitational and workers’ compensation clients. Steve earned his degree from California State University, Fresno.
Steve Gutilla Jr.
Steve Gutilla Jr has been at D&D for 13 years, and was recently promoted to an Account Executive role. As an insurance broker, Steve Jr. specializes in all lines related to commercial insurance. He graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture Business from California State University, Fresno and was a recipient of the 2018 IIAB Harlan Miller Award for a young insurance broker with outstanding record of service. In the industry for over a decade now, Steve Jr. enjoys working alongside his father at D&D.
Will Gutilla
As an account executive, Will has served D&D’s top clients for nearly five years. A Fresno native, Will earned his bachelor of science degree in business administration from USC’s Marshall School of Business. He specializes in working to confirm that businesses’ insurance programs are adequate and accurate relative to their operations.
Cheryl Harler
Cheryl Harler has over 20 years of professional experience and has been part of the D&D team since 2011. Since then, she’s led the Architects, Engineers and Consultants professional services program. Cheryl holds a Property/Casualty and Life license in California and is a graduate of both UC Davis and Saint Mary’s College.
Kyle Hormel
Kyle works as a broker at D&D and has worked in insurance for nearly a decade. He focuses on construction, towing and agriculture. Kyle closely studies the trends in his areas of expertise as he serves clients all over the state.
Mark Johnson
Mark is an insurance broker with D&D. He’s been a licensed broker since 1983 and joined the D&D team in 1990. Mark is a Certified Workers Compensation Advisor (CWCA), a premier designation for a broker in the industry.
Chad Kiesz
Chad is a commercial insurance broker at D&D. He has worked in insurance for nearly a decade and specializes as a generalist agent with expertise in workers’ compensation coverage.
Ronald E. Lamm A.A.I
Ronald has been in the insurance business for over four decades and with D&D for more than 30 years. He specializes in all forms of commercial insurance, including health and agribusiness. Ronald is an Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI), Certified Workers’ Compensation Advisor (CWCA) and Vice President at D&D. He is also a past President of the Independent Insurance Agents Association in Fresno.
William Lee
William Lee has been in the insurance business with D&D since 1995. He is a certified Workers’ Compensation Advisor and focuses on all commercial and property programs, as well as farm, personal lines, life employee benefits and bonds. William is Vice President at D&D.
Greg Loosigian
Greg has been in the insurance business for over three decades. He is Vice President and a multi-line broker, specializing in agribusiness, food processing, manufacturing, construction and employee benefits. Greg is a Certified Work Comp Advisor (CWCA) and is especially knowledgeable in large deductible programs and all aspects of employee benefits, for both large and small groups. Greg is a Fresno native and graduate of California State University, Fresno.
Clint Lucas
As a Central Valley native with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agribusiness from Fresno State University, Clint is excited to develop his career in the insurance industry, serving ag clients and other specialties. His experience as a leader in produce marketing and account management, covering territories all along the West Coast, has given him the sales and marketing tools to translate that knowledge to provide his clients with hands-on customer service, structured efficiencies for their properties, and of course competitive pricing.
George Lucas
George is a Vice President at D&D, with over two decades of experience in the insurance industry. He focuses on commercial packages, including all lines, workers’ compensation and benefits. He is a Certified Master Workers’ Compensation Advisor, which allows him to advise clients on hiring practices, classification review, coordinating with loss control and claims management to reduce their insurance costs.
Michael Miller
Michael is now in his fourth decade working at D&D, now serving as Vice President. His primary focus is working with large workers’ compensation clients including specialized risk management and financing issues. Michael formerly served as President of the Insurance Brokers and Agents Association of Fresno County as well as President of the Fresno Industrial Claims Association. Michael holds a bachelor’s and Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from California State University, Fresno.
Tom Moshier
Tom is a Vice President and has been in the insurance industry for over 20 years. He specializes in construction, surety, manufacturing, AG and workers’ compensation audits. Formerly a Chief Financial Officer, Tom is a Certified Workers’ Compensation Advisor (CWCA) and helps businesses that have problems with insurance compliance and audits.
Marshall L. Petersen Sr.
Marshall joined the D&D team in 1986 and has been in the insurance industry for three decades. He is a Vice President and focuses on elevator contractors, food industry and property risks. Marshall holds a Bachelor of Science degree from California State University, Fresno.
Debra Puma Duckering
Debra Puma Duckering has been in the insurance business for over three decades and now serves as a broker. Though she specializes in all lines of commercial insurance, she focuses on employee benefits programs. Debra is President of the Ministers of Presence Guild and board member of the Fort Washington Country Club Women’s Board, California Association of Health Underwriters, LARS and Littlest Angels. She is a graduate of California State University, Fresno.

Michael is a broker in the D&D Fresno offices.
John Samarin
John serves D&D as a Vice President and has worked in insurance for more than a decade. Managing insurance programs for clients in the food, agriculture and construction spaces, John helps clients play the insurance game at a high level to win.
Daniel Whittemore
Daniel Whittemore joined the D&D team in 2023 from the advertising sales industry, previously holding roles at One Putt Broadcasting and Fat Dawgs Broadcasting. Whittemore works at the Fresno office specializing in workers compensation and commercial insurance. Whittemore earned his Bachelor of Arts from California State University, Fresno.
Paul Wieda
Paul Wieda has been a financial advisor for over 38 years. While at D&D for the past 10 years, he has assisted clients with succession planning, buying and selling arrangements, employee compensation plans and pension and retirement planning. He is a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Accredited Estate Planer (AEP), to name a few. Paul is a graduate of The American College of Financial Services.
